REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR CCD

CCD (Sunday Catechism for K-12 & and elective class for Beginning Latin grades 7-12) will begin on October 5, 2025, and go through May 17, 2026.

Register before September 21, 2025, on which date there will be a mandatory parent meeting in the Aula Magna at 10:10am.

For those enrolled in Sacramental preparation classes, parents are required to bring a copy of each student's Baptismal Certificate to the parent meeting. By God’s grace, we again have a large group of volunteers to teach in our Sunday catechism program. We do, however, need a few more volunteers as aides, substitutes and hall monitors. If you feel the call to help, please reach out to let us know at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The duty of instructing the children of the parish in their catechism is very important, as so many popes and saints have told us. You may not know, however, that in Our Lady’s only proven apparition in the United States she emphasized the importance of teaching catechism. Our Lady of Champion (a title approved recently by the Holy See, and named for the town in Wisconsin where she appeared) told the visionary, Adele Brise:

“Gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they should know for salvation.”
“But how shall I teach them who know so little myself?” Adele said.
“Teach them,” replied her radiant visitor, “their catechism, how to sign themselves with the Sign of the Cross, and how to approach the sacraments; that is what I wish you to do. Go and fear nothing, I will help you.”

"Indeed it fills Our soul with consolation and gratitude towards the divine Goodness to see, side by side with religious men and women engaged in teaching, such a large number of excellent lay teachers...All these labor unselfishly with zeal and perseverance in what St. Gregory Nazianzen calls 'the art of arts and the science of sciences,' the direction and formation of youth. Of them also it may be said in the words of the divine Master: 'The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers few.' Let us then pray the Lord of the harvest to send more such workers into the field of Christian education." - Pope Pius XI, Divini Illius Magistri
